How to create a competition

Here are the steps to creating a competition

Creating a competition

You have the option of copying an existing competition, or creating from scratch.

  1. Click "Competition", then "Create Competition".
  2. To create a new competition, select "Create from scratch" then click "Create".
  3. Input the Competition name.
  4. Select the Competition Series (if applicable).
  5. Input the Competition Start date and time.
  6. Input the Competition End date and time.
  7. Select the Submission method. There are generally 2 types of competition formats: "Live competition" and "Clip submission".
  8. For a live competition - select "Live competition" - ensure it's set to "visible to public" so that people can find it. You can disable this temporarily while you are setting the competition up
  9. Enter a description of the Competition.
  10. Input any Competition Terms.
  11. Configure your divisions.
  12. Assign judges in the "Scoring & Judges" section
  13. Browse existing flowstate users, generic judges, or even invite a judge by entering their email.
  14. Once you've added all your judges, hit "Done"
  15. Click into the judge's profile in the main competition view to toggle them between "Judge" or "Head Judge".
  16. Configure your scoring rules.
  17. Setup your Jersey colour seeding (if applicable)
  18. CRITICAL STEP: Once this is completed, hit "Save" otherwise all your changes (including judge configuration) will be lost.



Opening Registration

  1. Go to the Status Dropdown (Yellow button at the top) → Select Registration Open.


Sharing the Competition Link

  1. Navigate to the Public Event Page and copy the URL to send the link to members to register for the comp.
